Hi Jayme, Remember these are supposed to be used to replace a meal and the organic whole food quality ingredients that are used in them contribute to the cost. You can find other shakes, but be careful of ingredients, a lot of meal replacements are filled with processed sugars making them not a healthy option. Bethany
P.S the diet Coke is not really a problem if you do most things right. Fitness is not a game of absolutes. You can have your cake and eat it too. It’s just a matter of learning how to say in balance.
I am too wanting to try the 21 day fix. I have found it very difficult to follow weight watchers because of the counting, measuring and the points. My question is… do you have to follow these recipes? Or can I cook what I want and put them in the containers???

May 12th, 2017 There is a different set of meals for every single day. There just isn’t any way on any alternate universe that I can make all of that food with my schedule. Plus, I felt like I’d need to take out a damn loan to buy all the ingredients for the many, many recipes. In addition, it’s really hard to meal prep when you have to make so many different recipes. Homie don’t play that. Kudos to anyone who has the time (and money) to buy all those ingredients and make different recipes for every meal, everyday. But there’s just no way that was happening in my world.
I’m on day three of the 21 day fix. I am overweight for my height, and seeing as my youngest is four I can’t really blame it on baby weight 😉 just not eating healthy or maintaining a healthy lifestyle through three pregnancies (all boys!) and life afterwards. Being a full time student and a mom (only recently stay at home, before working at least one job sometimes two), quick and easy or high in fat were my go to eaters. Once I started to focus more on my health and weight (about two years ago) I had more energy and lost weight. Then I started the depo (yeah, I know some do gain weight and some don’t – well I did – like everything I worked so hard to get rid of). I can’t say that portion control didn’t have anything to do with it, I too have found that my eating is out of balance and actually no where near enough for my current weight even to lose. That was my biggest surprise – I wasn’t eating enough – probably because I felt so self conscious anyway. Not only am I seeing weightloss already with increased portions, water weight I’m assuming, but I’m also noticing an increase in energy and spiking or falling energy throughout the day. I’m sore though, I’ll give you that, which is surprising since I just finished Turbo Fire.

I wanted to get active and Beachbody was easy for me to do it at home. I got the 21 Day Fix which came with containers so I can portion control what I was eating, and the shake, and some DVDs that I could do the workout. And then I decided to get the 80 Day Obsession which came with some bands and sliders to do the workout, and that’s streaming away. I did INSANITY six years ago and I really liked the instructor and I didn’t really think about looking for more. I liked it, so I just decided to go look on the website again and see what they had that was new. I didn’t even search anywhere else. My online purchasing experiences were great and easy, and their products were easy to use. However, the sliders don’t work as well as I would like them to, but I don’t know if it’s like me not being used to it or just the sliders itself not being great. Nonetheless, I was very satisfied with the result.

Because she didn’t like the taste she stopped using it but urged me to try and supplement my poor diet. Although I am somewhat of a gym rat and exercise freak, I struggle to eat the proper foods and therefore don’t always get the proper amounts of vitamins and nutrients. I find it’s good for measuring activity according to several variables (time, distance, heart rate, etc) although it seems inaccurate by some 10-20%. Since it is likely to be inaccurate consistently, you can still measure your performance today relative to yesterday and last week. The various badges and awards you are given when you achieve your goals are childish. I don’t need to be told “way to go” when I complete a workout. Who does? The device will not measure activity on a spin bike. I have tried every option (run, workout, spin, etc) and the readings are significantly lower than what I see on the bike computer. The model I have, the Charge 2, cannot be used for swimming. As swimming and spinning are two of my fitness activities, the tracker is of limited use to me. So far, I have not been able to get a measure of sleep despite following instructions. Overall, this is an expensive way to track what you probably have been tracking pretty accurately all along without the tracker.

In general, I see short programs like the 21 Day Fix or T25 as jump start programs. They will certainly get you started towards reaching your goal weight but in order to keep losing (or to even maintain) you’ll have to keep up the healthy habits (working out and eating clean).
